Defiance Co. Democratic Party Board Meeting - Oct 2007
The Defiance County Democratic Meeting was held on October 15th 2007 at 7:00 PM at the UAW Hall. There were 21 members in attendance. The guests present were Robin Weirauch, Joan Wright Sailer, Charlie Bakle, Michelle Domke and Roger Molnar. Donna Hitzeman and Wayne Olsson were excused.
Vic passed an attendance sheet around.
The minutes were read and approved.
Robin discussed her upcoming campaign and all the work she is doing. She will be here for the chicken barbecue, and is asking for any help she may receive. She is looking for locations for yard signs.
.Michelle Domke is discussing trying to schedule an event with the governor. She is looking forward to the upcoming election.
Charlie Bakle discussed the endorsement of his union.
The upcoming chicken barbecue was discussed. Help is needed for this function. On Wednesday night they are making cole slaw and need assistance. The event is this Thursday from 5 to 7. There will be raffles and other features.
The Halloween float was discussed and Tim will spearhead this again. He is planning to set up on Saturday the 31st.
Charlie Gray presented a by-law committee report. He presented these laws in writing and discussed the changes. Tim Holtsberry motioned to accept the changes in the amendments. Howard Tropepe seconded and the motion carried.
Vic informed the committee that Sherrod Brown will be at the UAW Hall on the 19th. This is open to the public and is not a dinner, just a speaker engagement. This is sponsored by a new Labor committee. Pat Walter motioned for Bob and Tim to represent the committee at this event. Tim Holtsberry seconded and the motion carried.
Tim Holtsberry motioned to accept the steering committee recommendation to endorse Charlie Bakle. Charlie Gray seconded and the motion carried. Charlie Bakle thanked the committee for the endorsement.
Bob Armstrong discussed the upcoming event for the mayoral debate.
Charlie Gray and Michelle Domke discussed the training that is coming up in our area.
Tim Holtsberry motioned to adjourn, Charlie Gray seconded and the motion passed.
